The Mt. Morris Fire Protection District would ask residents to please remember to clear snow from around fire hydrants following the most recent winter storm. It's a simple request but it could be a lifesaver. Blocked hydrants mean slower response to extinguishing fires which can result in catastrophic consequences. To assure fire department access, residents are strongly encouraged to clear a path to fire hydrants and remove snow from all sides. Obviously not every residence has a hydrant but nearly every block does. If there is not a hydrant in front of your residence clearing the one for your block is of importance to you. Clearing the snow from around the hydrant can save time, property and lives during an emergency. The Fire District Thanks you for your assistance.
