- Mt. Morris Fire responds to 4276 N. Mt. Morris Rd. for a Barn Fire -


On the afternoon of July 9th, 2009 Mt. Morris Fire & Ambulance received a report of a well involved barn fire at 4276 N. Mt. Morris Rd. Chief Hough arrived on scene to find a 100’ by 60’ barn with heavy fire showing from the South side. The barn contained a semi tractor and various pieces of farm machinery. Chief Hough immediately requested MABAS box 11 to the second alarm level. With in minutes of Fire Co’s arrival the barn was fully involved. The barn and its contents was a total loss but firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading to the other buildings. Ultimately the fire reached the third alarm level. Fire Co’s extinguished the blaze and were clear from the scene by 4:30. Mt. Morris would like to thank everyone who helped at the scene and with station coverage.
