- Mt. Morris Fire responds to 8690 W. Canada Rd. for a structure fire -

On July 26, 2008 at 05:21 the Mt. Morris Fire Protection District received an alarm for a possible barn fire. Engine Co. 5702 arrived on scene reporting a fully involved barn, almost on the ground. Automatic Aid was requested bringing in additional tankers from Polo and Forreston Fire Districts, and a Rescue Squad from Dixon Rural. The fire was reported by a passing motorist. Companies remained on the scene for a couple hours to complete overhaul tasks. The Illinois State Fire Marshal was brought in to aid in the investigation. No injuries were reported. The Mt. Morris Fire District would like to thank all that helped.
