- Mt. Morris Fire Responds to Willow Rd for A Tractor in the Creek -


On June 17, 2008 the Mt. Morris Fire Protection District responded to the 3300 Block of Willow Rd for a tractor that had rolled off a bridge and into the creek. Upon arrival on scene Chief Hough found an excavator lying on it's side in the creek. The Driver of the excavator had self extricated himself and was transported to an area hospital to be evaluated. The excavator had leaked several gallons of gasoline, hydraulic fluid, and oil into the creek. Mt. Morris Fire Crews trained in Hazardous Materials, diked and dammed the creek and waited for a clean up crew from Chicago to arrive. Maggio's wrecker service was called in to remove the excavator from the creek. The Fire District was assisted at the scene by the Mt. Morris Police Dept, the Ogle County Sheriff Department, the Ogle County Emergency Management Agency, the Dixon Rural Fire Protection District, Stan's Performance, and Maggio's Wrecker Service.
