- Mt. Morris Fire responds to Oregon for a Structure Fire -


On Friday February 27th, 2009 Mt. Morris Fire responded Automatic Aid to the City of Oregon for a report of a structure fire. Oregon Fire Chief Heller arrived on scene in the 1100 block of South 5th St. to find heavy smoke venting from a single story wood frame structure. Mt. Morris was requested to respond with a RIT Co. (Rapid Intervention Team) and responded with Heavy Rescue Co. 5747 along with Chief Hough in Car 5790. Fire companies from Byron, Stillman Valley, Polo and Dixon City responded to the scene as well. Fire companies operated on the scene for approximately 4 hours before they were released by Command.
