- Mt. Morris Fire responds to 401 S. McKendrie Ave. for a Structure Fire -

On December 19, 2010 Mt. Morris Fire responded to a report of thick black smoke coming from a residence at 401 S. McKendrie Ave. Chief Hough arrived on scene to find a two story wood frame home with flames showing from a second story window. Mt. Morris Command requested MABAS Box 18 to the Second Alarm Level bringing in additional companies. Fire crews operated on the scene four about four hours. Mt. Morris was assisted on the scene by Byron, Dixon Rural, Forreston, Oregon, Polo, and Stillman Fire Districts. German Valley and Leaf River Fire Districts covered the empty Mt. Morris Firehouse. Mt. Morris Fire would like to thank all those that came to assist them with the fire.
