- Mt. Morris Fire responds to 1847 N. Mt. Morris Rd. for a Structure Fire -

In the early morning hours of January 24, 2010 the Mt. Morris Fire District received a report of a fully involved house fire at 1847 N. Mt. Morris Rd. Companies quickly realized that this was going to be no ordinary house fire, this house belonged to one of our own. The home belonged to full-time Paramedic Bobbi Kump, who was on shift at the time of the fire. Bobbi's children were not home at the time of the fire, however tragically the family lost one member, Vixcen their German shepherd. Chief Hough arrived on scene to find a two story home fully involved. He requested MABAS Box 18 to the second alarm level. Companies operated on the scene for several hours. Companies from Byron, Dixon Rural, Forreston, Oregon, Polo, and Stillman assisted at the scene while German Valley and Leaf River covered our empty firehouse. A very warm and heartfelt Thank You goes out to all fire districts who assisted that night, as well as everyone that came to donate Paramedic Kump and her family items from clothing to TVs and couches. Thank you everyone!
