- Mt. Morris Fire responds with MABAS 18 Task Force -

On March 9, 2015 the Mt. Morris Fire Protection District responded as part of the MABAS 18 Task Force that was sent to Galena to assist with the train derailment.  The Task Force was made up of a Chief from Mt. Morris and Stillman, Engines from Lynn-Scott-Rock and Polo, Tenders from Mt. Morris and Dixon Rural and an Ambulance from Stillman and Rochelle.  The Task Force reported into Staging a little before noon and worked until about 6:00pm that evening before being released.  They assisted in providing water to the BNSF Railroad's Firefighters and Haz-Mat crew.
