- Mt. Morris Fire responds to 8521 W. Canada Rd. for a structure fire -

At 20:43 hours, August 19, 2013 Ogle County 911 Center received a 911 call for a building fire with smoke and flames showing  at 8521 W. Canada Rd., in Pine Creek Township.  Mt. Morris Fire was dispatched to the scene.  Mt. Morris Fire arrived on scene to find a two story, stone and masonry residence.  Initial Mt. Morris Fire Companies found heavy smoke and fire throughout the residence.  All occupants of the residence were reported out upon arrival.  Fire Companies operated on the scene until about 01:30 hours.

Mt. Morris Fire did request a MABAS Box 13 to the second alarm level for additional assistance, the assistance was as follows: Byron Fire, Dixon City Fire, Dixon Rural Fire, Forreston Fire, German Valley Ambulance,  Leaf River Fire, Oregon Fire, Polo Fire, Stillman Fire 

            Mt. Morris Fire, Office of the State Fire Marshal and the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office performed a joint investigation. The investigation is still ongoing, however, the fire does not appear to be incendiary, and it appears to be accidental with no foul play suspected.
